The City of Pickering is a growing community, rich in diversity, and we must recognize the importance of ensuring that the needs of our community are understood and supported.
On August 24, 2020, Council unanimously approved a staff report CS-27/20 (see page 69) that outlines the City’s three-pronged approach to address racism, diversity, and inclusion within Pickering.
Rooted in community consultation and the sharing of lived experiences, the Pickering Anti-Black Racism Taskforce (PABRT) will identify and address issues of anti-Black racism in Pickering.

On February 24, 2021, Members of the Pickering Anti-Black Preparatory Sub-committee hosted a special meeting to present the work completed to date including the preliminary results of the Anti-Black Racism Survey.
